Cision  announced that it has agreed to acquire PR Newswire  in a further step toward offering a complete set of communications software and services. The purchase from UBM plc includes $810 million in cash and $31 million of preferred equity.

The company expects the deal, which is subject to shareholder and regulatory approval, to close late in the first quarter of 2016. Since the merger with Vocus that created the current company, Cision has also acquired Visible Technologies, Gorkana and Viralheat.

Facelift acquires socialBench

Facelift  announced that it has acquired socialBench to add its benchmarking and analytics capabilities to Facelift's social media management platform for marketing. The socialBench tools will remain active for existing customers.

PropheSee Gets Seed Funding

PropheSee  announced that it has received Rs. 33 million (approximately US$516,000) in seed funding from the Indian Angel Network and Stanford Angels and Entrepreneurs India. PropheSee is building a digital marketing analytics platform that includes social media analysis among its features.

This is the first investment by SA&E India since opening as the first regional offshoot of SA&E earlier this year.

BuzzStream Searches Influencers

BuzzStream  introduced BuzzStream Discovery, a free influencer search and profiling tool. The product is in open beta now.

The Swiss marketing agency Goldbach Interactive has posted the results of its annual review of social media monitoring tools. Companies making the top 10 list this year are Brandwatch , Buzzcapture , Engagor , Linkfluence , Media Focus , Oracle , Synthesio , Sysomos , Talkwalker  and VICO .

SocialFlow Raises $7.5 Million

SocialFlow  announced that it has received $7.5 million in a Series C funding round led by Gefinor Capital. Fairhaven Capital, Softbank, Rand Capital and new investor Cayuga Venture Partners also participated in the round. SocialFlow offers an analytics-based platform for optimizing paid and organic marketing in social media.

The company plans to use the investment to support the continued development of its AttentionStream™ in-feed advertising offering, and in other development, sales and marketing initiatives.
