Google announced that PostRank Analytics and the PostRank.com feed management application will be retired on May 1. Google acquired PostRank in June 2011, and the PostRank team has been working on the social media analytics features in GA.

Dataminr revealed its platform for identifying signals in Twitter's public tweets, providing an early-warning system that integrates with third-party and proprietary data and supports clients' existing workflows.

Last December, the French PR software provider Augure acquired iMente, a social media specialist in Spain. The deal was financed through a €5 million investment round that included Serena, Ventech Capital, OTC Asset Management, Amundi Private Equity Funds and Ouest Ventures.

Visible Technologies announced the acquisition of Cymfony. Cymfony president Richard Pasewark will lead the combined companies as the CEO of Visible Technologies.
WPP's ownership position of approximately 24% of Visible Technologies and all of Cymfony will translate to 49% of the merged company. After closing, Visible management and venture investors Centurion Holdings, Ignition Partners, In-Q-Tel, and Investor Growth Capital will retain a controlling interest in the company.
Cymfony was originally aqcuired by TNS in 2007, and it was moved into Kantar Group after WPP's acquisition of TNS in 2008.
