Founded in 2005 by an interdisciplinary team of software developers, economists, and mathematicians, VICO Research & Consulting GmbH has evolved over the last years to become a specialist for the integration and application of social-media data in international businesses. On the basis of customer-specific evaluations and analyses, VICO implements relevant knowledge into businesses of various sectors and, by doing so, facilitates informed decisions on the part of players from Development, Marketing, Communication, Sales, and Human Resources. At present, there are 35 permanent members of staff in computational linguistics, analysis, consulting, and IT at the Stuttgart location, who are working on up to 60 different projects every month.
At the heart of VICO’s technological expertise lies an internally developed IT solution, which collects large volumes of data from various national and international sources on the Web and processes these by means of text- and data-mining algorithms.
