Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) announced an agreement to acquire RightNow Technologies (NASDAQ: RNOW) for $1.5 billion. RightNow's customer experience management line includes products for social media monitoring and engagement.
Next week, Katie Paine will host the first Social Media Measurement Standards Conclave, a gathering of professional associations to share programs and progress towards standards for measuring social media.
The Conclave will include representatives from IPR, AMEC, CPRF, IABC, PRSA, SNCR, WAA, and WOMMA, plus Procter & Gamble, SAS and Thomson Reuters. The event hashtag is #smmsc.
