Meltwater Acquires BuzzGain

Meltwater Group announced that it has acquired BuzzGain. BuzzGain's technology will be merged with Meltwater Buzz, the company's current SMA product. BuzzGain's founder/CEO, Mukund Mohan, and the company's 25-person engineering team have joined Meltwater.

In competing announcements this week, Media Watch Middle East and Mediastow both launched social media analysis platforms for the Middle East and North Africa. Media Watch's SocialEyez has been in use with clients since mid-2009. Both companies offer their software alone or in combination with their analyst services.

CIC's Chinese Dashboard Enters Beta

CIC recently announced that its IWOMmaster service platform has entered customer beta testing. The product suite includes applications for monitoring and measuring Chinese social media. A social CRM application is planned.

Vanno Relaunches Reputation Index

Vanno has relaunched its Company Reputation Index as a subscription service. The site tracks corporate reputations for 250 companies, based on social media and other web content. In addition to an overall reputation score, the site scores companies on five aspects of reputation: community involvement, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, social responsibility, and environment.

Vanno's $9.95 monthly subscription includes access to the scores and recent search results for the entire set of companies.
